Boston University (BU) is a non-governmental research university located in  Boston, Massachusetts. The University is nonsectarian but has traditional cooperation with the United Methodist Church. It was organized in 1839 by Methodists with its first Campus in Newbury, Vermont, before traveling to Boston in 1867.

The University presently has more than 4,000 staff members and nearly 34,000 students and is one of Boston’s most significant employers. It awards bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, doctorates, and pharmaceutical, dental, marketing, and law degrees through 17 schools and colleges on three residential campuses. The central Campus is positioned along the Charles River in Boston’s Fenway-Kenmore and Allston neighborhoods, while the Boston University Medical Campus is installed in Boston’s South End neighborhood. The Fenway college houses the Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, previously Wheelock College merged with BU in 2018.

The Boston University Bridge over the Charles River into Cambridge describes the dividing line separating the first Campus, where most of the schools and classrooms are concentrated. It also houses the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, formerly called the Twentieth Century Archive, where thousands of eminent figures in literature, journalism, diplomacy, the arts, and other fields are housed. “The Castle,” located on the West end of Bay State Road, is older buildings.

Los Angeles Campus:In Los Angeles, BU has an internship program for students to study and work in the heart of the film, television, advertising, public relations, and entertainment management, and law industries.

Paris Campus: The Paris Center runs several programs, the largest of which is the Paris Internship Program dating from 1989. Students take language and elective courses with French faculty at the BU Paris Center, they are placed in internships with French businesses and organizations in the area.

Washington, DC Campus: In Washington, D.C., BU has an internship, journalism, and management programs. Students study in the University’s building on Massachusetts Avenue and take advantage of the city by interning at different locations.
